I Expect to See Something Like This Tomorrow

The Lulz feature was originally inspired by the lolcats site but features hockey pictures with funny, quirky, ironic or just plain mean captions. This feature should run weekly on Fridays; TGIFWL (Thank Goodness It’s Friday With Lulz).

Atlantic Watch: 12/21-12/27

For the first time since the middle of November, the Flyers went a week where they only earned two points as they went 1-2-0 in three road games. Although the Flyers had the help of Claude Giroux and Brayden Schenn returning to the line-up, they managed to end the week with a pair of losses as they fell out of the top position in the division. The highlight of the Flyers’ upcoming schedule is The Winter Classic on Monday against the New York Rangers. After missing the previous four games, Giroux returned to the line-up last Wednesday to lead the Flyers …

Minor League Update: 12/18-12/24

The Phantoms continued to struggle in the month of December, losing both of their games this week to drop to 3-5-1 since the beginning of the month. With their first win being a 5-1 victory against the Norfolk Admirals (the Tampa Bay Lightning’s AHL affiliate) to conclude their four-game winning streak as they entered the month, the Phantoms’ last two victories have been one-goal victories. In the middle of a six-day break, the Phantoms look forward to three home games this week to bring in 2012. Last Sunday, the Phantoms lost 4-1 to the Binghamton Senators (the Ottawa Senators’ AHL affiliate) in Adirondack despite out shooting the …

Atlantic Watch: 12/14-12/20

Claude Giroux is expected to make a return in the near future, the earliest being tonight’s game against the Dallas Stars, from his concussion. This is good news considering the status of Chris Pronger, who will not take part in another game at any point this season or for the playoffs. With his team going 2-2-0 in his absence, Giroux’s return will hopefully turn things around for the Orange and Black. As for Philly’s games this week, the Flyers extended their winning …

Minor League Update: 12/4-12/10

The Adirondack Phantoms may have lost two games this week, but the club managed to gain three points in the standings by taking part in three one-goal games. After having only one one-goal loss in a regulation or overtime result in their first 21 games this season, the Phantoms have suffered three one-goal losses in their last four games. Unfortunately for Adirondack, their next two games are with teams against which they have gone just 1-3-0. To start the previous week, the Phantoms lost 1-0 in overtime on the road against the Hamilton Bulldogs (the Montreal Canadiens’ affiliate) Tuesday night. Saving the first …
