The Flyers won back-to-back games to start the week before dropping a Winter Classic preview on Saturday as they earned four out of a possible six points. Ilya Bryzgalov only saw 20 minutes of action this week stopping six out of a possible nine shots, while Sergei Bobrovsky provided a great relief appearance on Wednesday along with starting both of the weekend games. Briere Caps Flyers’ Comeback In Overtime Against Struggling Isles

It’s not how you start, but how you finish.  The Flyers lived up to that motto on Thanksgiving Eve as they overcame an early 3-1 deficit in New York to beat the Islanders 4-3 in overtime. Danny Briere scored the Flyers’ final two goals, while Sergei Bobrovsky relieved Ilya Bryzgalov after the first period and didn’t allow a single goal on 23 shots. Both Scott Hartnell and Braydon Coburn had two points on the night while the Flyers extended their winning streak against the Islanders to seven games. Atlantic Watch: 10/26-11/1

The week opened up roughly, but it ended smoothly as the Flyers seem to be moving towards playing better after a 5-1 win at home against the Carolina Hurricanes. Giving up 14 goals in back-to-back nights, the Flyers lost in inexplicable fashion to two currently horrendous teams, who are both experiencing difficulties in play and personnel.
