Schultz Scores Four, Titans Roll Over Royals

Stephen Schultz potted four power-play goals and Scott Wedgewood stopped everything he saw, as the Trenton Titans dominated the Reading Royals 6-0 last night at the Sun National Bank Center. Connor Goggin and Jacob Cepis also found nylon in the victory, while the pair of Blake Kessel and Kelly Zajac each had three assists in the easy win. Derrick Pallis, Bryan Haczyk, and Jesse Todd each had an assist in the win as well, as the Titans provided one of their most impressive wins in years. “I don’t know, must have been the ice cream I had for lunch today,” …

Ftorek’s Blast Gives Kalamazoo 2-1 OT Win Over Titans

The Trenton Titans may have outshot the visiting Kalamazoo Wings 46-27, but the hosts fell 2-1 in overtime last night at the Sun National Bank Center. Sam Ftorek had the game-winner for Kalamazoo with 1:01 left in overtime, while former Trenton Devil Joel Martin stopped 45 shots for the Wings. Brett Lysak had the opening goal for the visitors, while Jacob Cepis’ 14th of 2012-2013 was the lone goal for Trenton. Titans blanked 4-0 by Cyclones

Just when the Trenton Titans seemed to be heading in the right direction, the Cincinnati Cyclones made a visit to the Sun National Bank Center and hand the Philadelphia Flyers’ affiliate a 4-0 loss on Saturday. Garrett Wilson had a two-goal game for Cincinnati, while former Trenton Devil Dan Eves and Mike Embach had two-assist games to end the Cyclones’ three-game losing streak. Michael Houser posted a 33-save shutout to end Trenton’s brief two-game winning streak. Trenton Update: 1/11-1/17

The Trenton Titans’ losing streak reached seven games before they pulled off an overtime winner on Wednesday morning against the Reading Royals. The Philadelphia Flyers’ affiliate only grabbed one point over the 0-6-1 stretch, as their last two wins have come in overtime against the Royals at Sun National Bank Center. The Titans will be in New York tonight before they travel home to host a pair of games against the leaders of the North Division. Trenton started the week with a 3-1 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays in New Jersey on Friday. Both the Saturday and Sunday games …

Trenton Update: 1/4-1/10

The Trenton Titans’ two-game skid turned into a five-game losing streak this week, as the squad dropped all three games on their schedule with a record of 0-2-1. Just as the Flyers’ ECHL affiliate gained a lot of ground in the Eastern Conference with a winning streak a few weeks ago, the team dropped right out of the playoff picture with a losing streak, as Trenton sits 12th in the conference at the moment. A pair of tilts against a team three points ahead of them in the East and a contest against the team leading their division give the …

Trenton Update: 10/12-10/18

Last season, the Trenton Titans finished dead last out of the 20 teams in the ECHL with 21 wins and 52 points over 72 games. During their time at the bottom of the league last year, the squad only produced one winning streak that was three games or longer. Just three games into the 2012-13 season the Titans have already matched that total, as they sit atop the “E” with a record of 3-0-0. Six other teams in the league are undefeated, but none of those clubs have played three games yet. Head coach Vince Williams believes there are several …

Minor League Update: 3/19-3/25

In response to their three-game losing streak last week, the Adirondack Phantoms came out and won all three of their contests this week. After they allowed one goal in their first two wins, the Phantoms allowed four goals last night, but were able to come up with a one-goal win against a team they have struggled against all year. Although the Phantoms only moved up to 11th place in the standings, they are now four points behind the Syracuse Crunch (Anaheim Ducks’ AHL affiliate) for eighth in the Eastern Conference. Jason Akeson’s 11th goal of the season was all Michael …
