The Trenton Titans lost their seventh straight last night at the hands of the visiting South Carolina Stingrays on Military Appreciation Night at Sun National Bank Center. Marcel Alvarez and his teammates couldn’t do enough to beat Jeff Jakaitis and his shot-blocking partners, as Trenton saw the goaltender stop 32 of the 33 shots they threw at him. The first full night of games following mass call-ups due to the end of the NHL lockout have passed in the ECHL, and the Trenton Titans opened up a two-game home series on Friday night playing like they were trying to figure out just how to deal with the sudden upheaval. Noebels Named ECHL All-Star

Marcel Noebels is the Trenton Titans’ lone representative at the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game, which will be a contest between the ECHL All-Stars and the Colorado Eagles on Wednesday, January 23 in Loveland, Colorado. The Philadelphia Flyers’ fourth-round selection in 2011 is one of nine rookies to be selected to this year’s All-Star squad. Noebels is currently second on the Titans with 30 points, as the first-year professional has 11 goals and 19 helpers in 31 games for the Flyers’ affiliate this year. He is tied for fourth among all ECHL rookies in points and is tied for the lead …
