The Philadelphia Flyers lost another pivotal game tonight in Tampa Bay, as the Lightning handed the visitors a 4-2 loss. Teddy Purcell deposited the game-winner halfway through the third period, while Steven Stamkos recorded his 200th goal in the NHL in a two-point effort. Max Talbot and Claude Giroux were the only Flyers to beat Anders Lindback, as Tampa Bay’s goaltender made 28 stops for the victory. The Trenton Titans’ losing streak reached seven games before they pulled off an overtime winner on Wednesday morning against the Reading Royals. The Philadelphia Flyers’ affiliate only grabbed one point over the 0-6-1 stretch, as their last two wins have come in overtime against the Royals at Sun National Bank Center. The Titans will be in New York tonight before they travel home to host a pair of games against the leaders of the North Division. Alvarez Leaves for Ft. Benning, Titans Lose Seventh Straight

The Trenton Titans lost their seventh straight last night at the hands of the visiting South Carolina Stingrays on Military Appreciation Night at Sun National Bank Center. Marcel Alvarez and his teammates couldn’t do enough to beat Jeff Jakaitis and his shot-blocking partners, as Trenton saw the goaltender stop 32 of the 33 shots they threw at him. Scott Wedgewood had 16 saves on 19 shots, as three players who participated in the loss last night won’t be on the team today. The story of the night was Alvarez. Although the Trenton Titans lost all three of their games this weekend to extend their losing streak to four, they managed to pick up a pair of points to gain a little ground in the standings. The Titans have only won one of their last seven contents, as their lone victory came in a high-scoring shootout. The Phantoms started off the week with a pair of wins before finishing with a one-goal loss. The loss was the Phantoms’ first loss since last Thursday and the game concluded violently.
