Atlantic Watch: 2/2-2/9

With only two games since last Wednesday, the Flyers had the lightest work week of any team in the Atlantic Division. Since both of those games were against Western Conference teams, the schedule didn’t feature any intense divisional games as well. Nonetheless Philly went 2-0-0 on the week notching wins against the Nashville Predators on Thursday and Dallas Stars on Saturday. Ville Leino’s first two-goal game in the NHL led the Flyers to victory Thursday beating the Predators 3-2. “The morning after” is a review of the previous night’s Flyers’ game which, in theory, provides a more objective perspective on the game. The Flyers have been gambling with their goaltenders for years. So, it really shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that the team decided to roll the dice and put Sergei Bobrovsky, their untested goalie prospect, in net last night against one of the most elite teams in the East, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
