A pair of forwards in the Philadelphia Flyers’ system were injured this week, as both Ben Holmstrom and Andrew Johnston suffered setbacks. Holmstrom, the team’s captain, left the Phantoms’ December 8 game against the Syracuse Crunch, which turned out to be a 4-3 shootout victory, due to an injury to his knee. It was announced on Saturday that the forward will undergo surgery on his right knee this Thursday.
