Waiver wire: Hall arrives, Foster clears

It’s been a day slower than molasses in Vermont in January on trade deadline 2013, but the first move has been made by the Flyers. Adam Hall was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Hall, a 32-year-old Michigan native, posted four assists in 20 games with the Bolts, after failing to record a point in six appearances with Carolina earlier in the season. A 10-year NHL veteran who played collegiate hockey for Michigan State, Hall has totaled 65 goals and 147 points in 591 NHL games for Nashville, the Rangers, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Tampa and the Hurricanes. Zherdev placed on waivers

Nikolay Zherdev’s tenure in Philadelphia has most likely come to an end. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren stated this afternoon that he placed the 26-year-old forward on waivers. "His agent and Nik, they’re obviously not happy with the situation here," Holmgren said. "They’d asked us to look around for options. Nothing really came of that through trades, so we’ll see what happens with this." In his first season with the Flyers, the native of the Ukraine notched 15 goals and 19 points in 47 appearances, but has not suited up since February 10.
