Flight Plan: Wheels Up

In this writer’s opinion, the Philadelphia Flyers blew it last week. The team had three games which they should have won, one of which they could have grabbed a point in, and garnered just four points to their names and worse, they scored just seven goals in the process. To come out the way they did against the lowly Florida Panthers, is just unacceptable. To need overtime and the shootout to win a game against the Nashville Predators is similarly unacceptable. This team is far too reliant on Ray Emery and Steve Mason to keep games within reach. They can’t …

Philadelphia Flyers (11-12-2) @ Nashville Predators (13-11-2), 8:00pm, CSN-Philly, FS-TN The Philadelphia Flyers look to open their six-game road trip with their second straight win tonight in Nashville against the Predators. The Orange and Black enter the game only winning one of their last three, but they’ve won four of their last six. The Preds enter the game winning two of their last three, but they were shut out by Ilya Bryzgalov in their most recent game, which was a 3-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Flight Plan: Turning It Around

The Philadelphia Flyers have been one of the hottest teams in the entire NHL in November. Since their first game of the month, a 7-0 blowout loss to the Washington Capitals, they have managed to garner at least a point in the standings in every game except one, as they’ve gone 7-1-2. It’s a pretty impressive little run they’ve been on, but what’s also refreshing is that they are starting to score goals at a more consistent pace. They’ve scored more than two goals on six occasions now for the season, which is a feat they accomplished just once through …

Game 20 Preview: Ottawa Senators @ Philadelphia Flyers

Ottawa Senators (8-8-4) @ Philadelphia Flyers (7-10-2), 7:00pm, CSN-Philly/SNET-E/TVA With a successful road trip, it’s time for the Philadelphia Flyers to provide a successful homestand to potentially put themselves at the hockey .500. After grabbing five of a possible six points on the road last week, the Orange and Black will start their homestand against the Ottawa Senators, the same team they started their road trip against last week. The road trip didn’t just provide a handful of points for Philly, it provided a lot better play and a sense of confidence among a team that is working their way …
